From executive orders that sought to ban individuals because of their faith to the conclusion of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) to ICE raids in our South Philadelphia neighborhood, this past year has brought heartache and fear. Yet in the midst of that, Aquinas Center emerged as a place of beauty and belonging. It has served as a unifying agent in the face of exclusion.
Your contribution helps adult English class students like Carlos learn in a safe, welcoming classroom. Your support means that Atianah's concerns about neighborhood change and gentrification are being heard in print and through invited presentations across the city. Your generosity puts a paintbrush in the hand of Blanca who is literally transforming the center, one mural at a time.
Let's reclaim the story and write our own chapter that prioritizes hospitality, responsiveness, solidarity, and transformation.
